It is a system of systems fed by NATO’s Command and Control Systems, the live feeds from sensors and the ad-hoc theatre data. JCOP is currently implemented in the Joint Force Command in Naples (Italy), Brunssum (Netherlands), Lisbon (Portugal) as well as the Strategic Headquarters at Mons, Belgium (SHAPE). Components of the JCOP system are also used to provide the COP for approved NATO Operations in Afghanistan, Libya and Kosovo. The Operations SystemsSection of the NCSA/SMD Mission Dedicated Systems Branch is responsible for the second level operational support of the JCOP system. Senior Software Engineer Essential Skills: University degree in CIS engineering or equivalent engineering disciplines and 2 years function related experience. Extensive programming and systems analysis experience with particular experience in .NET platform in C#, C++ programming languages. Programming experience in Java programming language. Data communications experience including TCP/IP and DNS. Experience in hardware/software interfaces and in design of client/server systems as well as LAN/WAN and network design. Experience in testing of software applications. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing in English. Senior Software Engineer Desirable Skills: Recent experience with the design development or maintenance of systems built with the Service Oriented Architecture. Experience in the operational use and software maintenance of at least one current Air, Land or Joint Operations command and control (C2) system . Experience with PostgreSQL DBMS Experience with version control in a CM environment (Subversion and/or Team Foundation Server). Experience of systems support and maintenance in the NATO environment.
